I've re-named Loken-4 the Thjarki. Here's their layout (like in the VOR: The Maelstrom book for races such as the Union, Mashers etc...)


THE THJARKI


The Thjarki are a race of robots who were manufactured by a multinational corporation for use in mining in Iceland and Antarctica (Thjarki is the Icelandic word for robot). They were designed to handle conditions better than humans could. After the Induction, the Thjarki went AWOL, left the Earth and started randomly attacking others, and manufacturing more robots. Random attacks by Growlers and Mashers left many robots reduced to piles of scrap, and so the Thjarki took to arming themselves.


APPEARANCE: Your basic Thjarki appears utilitarian in its design - they were not designed for aesthetics, only work in hostile areas. They started preparing for war, and attacked perceived foes. Even so, little has changed with the basic design for the basic trooper - however, more advanced Thjarki will often have different features, depending on what it was manufactured for. Cyborgs and enslaved humans, known as ‘bio-units’ are considered expendable. So far, there have been no encountered cyborg Growlers or Zykhee.


CULTURE: The Thjarki are robots - they have no real culture in the human sense of the word. They do what they are designed for. They are highly intelligent, yet most of them only have a limited sense of free will. Thjarki are generally humanoid in their design, although there are exceptions. Thjarki do as they are instructed by more advanced AI computers based on their world of Morganis. Thjarki mostly communicate in machine code, yet they have a databank of thousands of human languages programmed into their systems for use with humans. All Thjarki obey the central computer, the Loki-1 mainframe.


DOMAIN: The Thjarki have a small but growing presence in the Outer Ring. The centre of their empire is on Morganis, a gigantic manufacturing planet that has been taken over by their AI leaders. More Thjarki are being manufactured daily. Thjarki migration from planet to planet is done by launching spacecraft with manufacturing robots and a governor AI. If they find a planet with good resources, the Thjarki ship lands, and commences mining and construction. Thjarki are also interested in exploiting the human genomic code, hoping that it will enable the Thjarki to not only better understand their creators, but gain some good expendable troops.


WAYS OF WAR: The Thjarki consider biological life an inconvenience, and will only engage them if they have to. However, the Thjarki will kidnap humans for DNA extraction and for manufacturing cyborgs. The Oceanic Confederacy knows all too well about the experiments that the Thjarki have conducted on some of them - Thjarki raids into Confederate territory are occasional, but devastating.
