OK John, I've had a think and I'm up for it if you still are. It seems its a three game tournie, fully painted 1500 pt armies, but they're the only rules I can find out without buying a ticket.
What are your thoughts? Anyone else interested in going? |

My main concern is cost really. I guess the day might put us out anything up to £50 overall. That much I can take. Much more is uncertain. I also need to know when it is for the sake of possible clashes. I'll go into town today and find out.
Our mission, should we decide to accept it, might entail moving fast to get our tickets. Oh, and I'll need to find where I put my fecking Codex: SM!   "Remember each leaf and every blade of grass. Its on the Sun 19th May. £50 should be more than enough.

The date's fine. That gives us... 10 weeks. If you're up for it, I could go in and try getting them to hold tickets (or even buying them) today. I dunno, maybe you'd like to sleep on it or something? I await your instructions!

In time to pop into Static too I guess. And probably too early for you getting out of work (17.30?) as well I'd think, if that was what you're getting at. If we were to meet in GW after your work, what time d'you reckon that'd be?

Meanwhile, back at reality(?). Well most of my army's painted, depending on what kind of list I put together. I wonder if fully painted means insignia, banners and all? I'll have to find out. Oh, and I was having second thoughts last night too. Truth is, I'm nervous- G3 Bloodbowl 2001 was the only games tourney I've been in since interschool chess at primary school. Ach, it'll be a laugh. I expect we'll both need lots of practice against different armies. I can offer Chaos, Eldar and Orks.

I can only offer some extra Orks and Chaos, but no complete armies. I'm booked for Tuesday next, and it'd be difficult to cancel. Meanwhile, depending on departure times, I might be able to do something Sunday afternoon/evening. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
Oh, and if we're only going to get 2/3 practice games in, we might as well just go Marines v. Eldar- because we need to play our own armies first (I'm assuming here that we'll be doing all the playing). "Remember each leaf and every blade of grass. Here is the army list I expect I'll be taking:
HQ 87pts Leader w/jump-pack, M/C bolter/meltagun, CCW, frag and melta 87pts TROOPS 652pts 2 squads of 6 scouts, each w/4 sniper rifles and missile launcher 248pts 4 squads of 5 marines, each w/lascannon and plasma gun 404pts FAST ATTACK 290pts 2 squads of 5 jump-packers, each w/2 plasma pistols, and 1 squad w/melta bombs 290pts HEAVY SUPPORT 470pts 2 squads of 10 Devestators, w/4 heavy bolters, and w/2 plasma cannons and 2 missile launchers 470pts Total= 1499pts This gives me 63 marines, 51 of them in power armour. They have 14 hvy weapons; and 19 weapons w/AP 2 or better. I'm sure there are some variations that could be recommended, but the one thing I can't do is add any vehicles- I've only got a couple of dreads I could finish in time, and I'd rather not use them. Plus, I do have some experience with the all-foot army, and not all of it bad! Oh, and they ought to look impressive! "Remember each leaf and every blade of grass. I've posted my list to the B&C and the MG. I've had some pretty good feedback on the MG, so there will be some minor changes. Oh, and I'll be in Thornliebank, so is there any chance of a lift? Hmm? Pretty please?
